Los humanos no se adaptan a las condiciones naturales en las que nacen, como la mayoría de los animales lo hacen. Construyen su vivienda. Construyen y habitan. Habitan y construyen. Sobreviven construyendo lugares y ambientes adecuados; crean su entorno.
Los humanos son constructores por naturaleza y es esta transformación constante del entorno lo que origen al paisaje, convertido en una imagen de cambio continuo. Los humanos dan forma a su entorno y al mismo tiempo sueñan con aquellos lugares aún no intervenidos por su acción. A través de estas intervenciones, el paisaje adquiere una serie de significados culturales dados por factores sociales y políticos; de esta manera, la naturaleza se transforma por la acción humana a lo largo de la historia. Por lo tanto, el paisaje es un concepto que se refiere tanto a una porción de territorio como a la imagen de este, su representación artística. Encontramos muchas de estas imágenes conmovedoras al considerarlas como fragmentos de la naturaleza, elementos evocadores, pertenecientes al infinito imaginario.
Para este proyecto, me interesaba acercarme al ideal de la naturaleza a través de la apropiación y reinterpretación del paisaje que rodea el espacio específico de mi intervención, donde precisamente tomé esos pequeños fragmentos de naturaleza para evocar la totalidad de un paisaje pasado, pues ningún paisaje es permanente. El paisaje real, incluso un instante después de ser fotografiado, cambia, volviéndose inaprehensible.
Humans do not adapt to the natural conditions they are born in, as most animals do. They build their dwelling. They build and inhabit. They inhabit and build. They survive by constructing suitable places and environments; they create their surroundings.
Humans are builders by nature and it is this constant transformation of the environment that gives rise to landscape, turned into an image of continuous change. Humans shape their environment and at the same time, dream of those places not yet intervened by their action. Through these interventions, the landscape acquires a series of cultural meanings given by social and political factors; it is, in this way, nature transformed by human action throughout history. Therefore, landscape is a concept that refers both to a piece of territory as to the image of it, its artistic representation. We find many of these images moving as we consider them as fragments of nature, evoked elements, ones belonging to the infinite imaginary.
For this project, I was interested in approaching the ideal of nature through the appropriation and reinterpretation of the landscape surrounding the specific space of my intervention, where I precisely took on those small fragments of nature to evoke the completeness of a landscape past, for no landscape is permanent. Even an instant after being photographed, the real landscape changes, becoming inapprehensible.
